Summer 2011

Check out Pier 84!

This is a park built on a pier, the largest public pier in Hudson River Park. There is a dog run(!), fun water fountains to play in/run through, restaurants, a large grassy lawn, picnic areas, a boathouse, a water taxi stop (www.nywatertaxi.com), a lush neighborhood garden, and a beautiful place to sit at the end of the pier to watch the river and the boats go by! The Intrepid is parked nearby; this enormous retired war ship is also a museum and is packed with history (www.intrepidmuseum.org). There's much more, and it's free - what have you got to lose? Stop by when the weather is nice and check it out!

Murray's review:
I like to romp around the Pier. They don't allow dogs in the fountains but that's okay with me -- the water squirting up from the ground scares me. The Intrepid ship is the biggest thing I have ever seen! The garden is so purdy, but I feel the flowers dont't't't get enough water, so I make sure to water them heavily (if you know what I mean) each time I pass by the fence (dogs can't go in there either). I give this place 4 out of 5 licks.

Daisys review:
This is a perfect place for a girl like me -- so many things to do! My Daddies say the caf is great for a quick bite. I wouldnt know because they are too stingy to give me any. I like watching Murray running scared around the water fountains. There is SO much to eat, lick and smell! I give this place 4 out of 5 paws!
